Along with it, Г‰douard also exhibited вЂњThe BalconyвЂќ. Г‰douard then thanked Zola and as a sign of gratitude, Г‰douard made a portrait of Zola that was exhibited at the Salon on 1868. A young novelist named Г‰mile Zola, who was impressed by Г‰douardвЂ™s naturalism of work, made an article in which he praised Г‰douard for his passion in painting. He exhibited about a maximum of 50 of his paintings. There, he exhibited some of his works involving his paintings of bullfights and toreadors. Having several of his works being rejected from the 1967 Universal Exposition, Г‰douard stood up a stall at the corners of Avenue Montaigne and Pace de lвЂ™Alma. This created scandal because they judged it as a painting which displays immorality. It was a painting with the use of oil on canvas. In 1865 one of his paintings, called Olympia, which was created two years ago, brought about a scandal. In 1863, Г‰douard met and married Suzanne Leenhoff, who was a Dutch woman that taught him the piano and gave him a child before marriage. Then, in 1861 at the Salon, Г‰douard exhibited the Spanish Singer.ДЇrom 1862 to 1865, Г‰douard participated in exhibitions prepared by the Martinet Gallery. As he was painting his work, many passersby watched with much curiosity at him elegantly dressed while he would start painting his canvases in the open air. Г‰douard also encountered a poet named Charles Baudelaire who suggested Г‰douard to paint the вЂњConcert in the Tuileries GardensвЂќ in 1862. He painted вЂњThe Boy with CherriesвЂќ in 1858 and вЂњThe Absinthe DrinkerвЂќ in 1859. In 1850, Г‰douard joined the studio of a classical painter named Thomas Couture and after six long years, Г‰douard was able to set up his studio which he shared with a painter named Albert de Balleroy. Г‰douard also took an entrance examination for naval college, but he failed twice so his father gave in to his sonвЂ™s desire to paint. His father didnвЂ™t allow Г‰douard to be a painter, instead he wanted him to be a lawyer but Г‰douard refused. In a year, his interest was only in drawing courses.

In 1839, he went to school at Canon Poiloup in Vaugirard and studied French and the classics. His father was Auguste Manet, who worked at the Ministry of Justice, and his mother was EugГ©nie-DГ©sirГ©e Fournier. In A Bar at the Folies-BergГЁre, Manet created a complex, absorbing composition and one of the iconic paintings of modern life.Г‰douard Manet was born on January 23 of 1832 in Paris, France. This play of reflections emphasises the disorientating atmosphere of the bustling Folies-BergГЁre. The bottles on the left are similarly misaligned in the mirror. Ignoring normal perspective, Manet has shifted their reflection to the right. However, the final work was painted entirely in his studio, where a barmaid namedвЂЇSuzonвЂЇcame to pose. Manet frequented it with friends and made sketches onвЂЇsite. Opened a decade or so earlier, the Folies-BergГЁre had rapidly become one of most popular music halls and places of entertainment in Paris. This animated scene is in fact a reflection in the large gold-framed mirror, whichвЂЇprojects it into the viewerвЂ™sвЂЇownвЂЇspace. In the top left, a trapeze artist in green boots adds to the excitement. The background shows a fashionable crowd mingling on the balcony, entertained by musical and circus acts below. Indeed, the barmaid appears as just another item in the enticing array on offer in the foreground: wine, champagne, peppermint liqueur and British Bass beer, with its iconic red triangle logo. This would have been a startling painting for Salon visitors in many ways, not least because it seems to follow the traditional format of portraiture but does not name its subject.
